Thank you for supporting my COVID-19 Quarantine Bird Photography Project, Birds of a Feather. These unprecedented times we are all going through have led to the placement of state laws requesting all residents in North Carolina to stay at home and practice social/physical distancing when outside of their homes. As a photographer, I could no longer do photoshoots with human clients, so I turned to my surroundings to continue my photography while increasing my knowledge of the craft.
While sitting in my sunroom, I noticed various birds flying from tree to tree in search of insects and other food, and I realized that I had found my quarantine muse: birds. I began positioning bird feeders and water features outside my sunroom to attract God's beautiful creatures. With the assistance of seasoned bird photographers who provided direction and tips on YouTube, I could dial in the proper camera settings. I didn’t stop at just the correct camera settings; I also watched several videos to study the behavior of these magnificent creatures.
My time at home during the Coronavirus Pandemic has been spent photographing, editing, and posting images of the various species gracing my yard. I am very excited to share these images with you and remind you all that we can find beauty in everything surrounding us. Enjoy!
